Aaron Johnson

Bio


Born and raised in the Valley, the North Hollywood native comes from a long line of artists and entertainers. As a self-taught artist, Aaron Johnson has over 17+ years of experience. Since 2009, his art has been published in online zines, video games, indie publications online and internationally for companies such as Lucasfilm, Fantasy Flight Games, Marvel, Order 66 Podcast, SODMG/Republic Records, Universal Records, to name a few, specializing in character design, concept art/development as a freelance illustrator. In 2015 he and his brother Eli created their own graphic novel series, The Formula. In 2019 he joined Mother Road Studios and Workability LA, a for-profit organization dedicated to creating career empowerment and educational development for differently-abled adults and teens. In 2020, he became lead Designer AnimeHipHop, an animation production company and as the Lead Designer, illustrated WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi’s original comic book series, “Kishi and the Island of Dreams”. In 2023, he began teaching animation workshops, starting at UCLA, as he tours comic book conventions nationwide while working on new original productions he hopes will inspire and entertain a new generation of artists and fans.
