We are thrilled to announce that AfroComicCon will be having a Children’s Book Giveaway, featuring @Ajuanmance at the 81st St. Library Branch on Saturday, August 10th from 1 – 2:30 PM! Ajuan is not only the author of many books but is also an illustrator. The book and the coloring pages activities are for readers of all ages! She will be there to read to the kids! Her work highlights Black characters and stories that inspire, empower, and provide representation to young readers! She has been a participant/supporter of AfroComicCon since the beginning and we are so happy to bring her books and her awesomeness to East Oakland! While supplies last! See you there! Thanks to the fantastic Oakland Literacy Coalition for sponsoring/funding this event, their work promoting literacy for our youngest community members is so awesome! Also big thanks to the Oakland Public Library and the 81st Street OPL’s Isaiah Hurtado.
